[W126 Coupe] Huge Fuel Leak

Henry,

That does sound like one of your fuel pumps. If you have a 560, it has 2
pumps and one filter. When I rebuilt my wife's car, I opted to replace all
the hoses, crush washers, and filter. I had a bad fuel pump too so swapped
it from one out of my parts car. You will want to crimp the main line
coming out of the tank to the first pump, otherwise, you'll get a nice fuel
bath!

Get the car jacked up nice and stable, that will give you room to work.
Take your time, get the right parts from the dealer, Jonathan, or your
favorite parts source, and get it sorted out.

Actually, you don't need your wife to help. You can simply remove the fuel
pump relay and jumper the right pins, I forget if its 6 and 7, or 7 and 8.
Look when you pull the relay out, and there are two "rows" of holes where
the pins in the relay plug into. Its the "opposite" holes that are either 6
and 7 or 7 and 8. Use a 12 or 14 gauge piece of wire to "jumper" those
holes, and with car not on, the fuel pumps will spin and run. Then you can
go back there yourself and see what is going on.

Good luck!
Markus
