Axel: Try to fix the cruise control amp as Dick Spellman wrote as the replacement is pretty pricey. Replacing the actuator is a piece of cake and you might be able to find one at a junk yard although you will be taking a chance that it is defective. If you know someone that has a similar one you might swap it just for a test. The one for my 87 SEC came off a diesel. Someone on this list who is more familiar with these can probably tell you which ones are interchangeable.

Hey all,

My cruise control has never been silky smooth. Even before the engine swap it was always "hunting" a bit around the set speed.

Well, on Saturday, driving through pouring rain and gusty winds to my son's baskeball game (his team lost, to a team with girls on the roster! Yeah, proud pappa.....) the "hunting" cruise control turned into a wild bucking bronco.

My daughter thought it was a lot of fun. Me less so.

Is there anything to fix in the cruise control, or should I just order a replacement from Jonatha?

Cheers,
Axel
