[W126 Coupe] transmission needed

Recently I swapped the innards of my '89 SEC tranny,

into a different case. The shop called to say that the

#2 pack was burned. I confirmed it for myself. This

car only has 69k miles on it. If the $550 tranny does

not "work" properly, it would be a major bummer. For

near 2 times that amount, you could get a rebuild or

have yours rebuilt. There is a guy in Jersey, who sells

rebuild, with converter, for somewhat over $1k. I

believe it includes shipping. Not certain. He advertises

in the Star. Just thinking out-loud here.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] transmission needed

I have a 1984 500 SEC for which I need a transmission to replace the failed
one that is currently in the car. I found a used one on EBay for $399. plus
$150 for shipping, and would appreciate some input or advice on whether I
should take a chance on this one, or possible if someone has one available
for sale.

Thanks, everyone.
