[W126 Coupe] 1985 Driver's side window motor

Hi Robert,

There were two manufacturers of the window regulators. Most often the
regulator fails (cracked or twisted lift arm) and the metal in the door
frame flexes too and and cracks at on of the regulator to door frame
retainer bolts. I've seen one motor where the teeth were worn or missing.
Never seen a motor that failed to operate.

I would check with Jonathan for the regulator and motor which he obtains
from MB wholesalers and not aftermarket.

A nice feature that would save these regulators and the door seal itself
would be to have the window lower just a bit when you go to open the door
and then once the door is closed the window raises to the seal. I think GM
incorporated a circuit like this in the TransAm WS6 I drove for a bit.

Regards,
Dick
