[W126 Coupe] Dip stick

In that case, what is the actual length of the tranny dip stick AND are they all the same length???  There are enough pick-your-part yards with bad 560 engines that someone could possibly grab one for Ronnie.  What year???

  I can't help wondering how those lines could have worn off.  They are scribed into the metal and that would mean something had to wear that metal down to erase those lines..  Which then leads me to ask where did those metal filings go?   In the tranny?

   

  Unless the end of the dipstick broke off at the MAX line..  Does the end of the d/s still have the curled end?  If not where's the broken end?
