[W126 Coupe] 560 SEC Hydraulic Pump

Glad to help. You can pull the pump and take it inside to work on it. Don't
forget that the easiest way to empty the hydraulic fluid reservoir is to
disconnect the metal line into the top of the reservoir, put it into a 2L
plastic soda bottle and start the engine. It comes out nice and slow. When
you pull the pump, replace the rubber line from the bottom of the reservoir
to the pump. I used a piece of fuel hose. Also, there is a 13mm bolt in the
side of the engine to right (from the front) of the pump that holds that
reservoir line in place. It's kinda hidden down there and almost positively
covered in gunk.
Valve seals are a weekend project. It will take several days in a DIY
environment, but with the right tools it's easy.

Later,
Mike

Hey Mike – I really appreciate your friendship over all these years.
I’m going to get the car up in the shop tomorrow morning and look things
over. My shop is about 32 x 32 and is about 50 yards up the hill from the
house. If I have any questions I’ll call you. It’s well insulated, but not
heated. When I work out up there in the winter, it’s about 47°. Wish me
luck.
Maybe I’ll try to do the valve seals—I’d like to—but not tomorrow. I’ll have
to read up about doing that. Thanks for all your help.
