The pump leaked on my 6.9 and it caused the suspension to act out. My
problem turned out to be the bolts working themselves loose with one of the
bolts missing.
A new bolt and some thread lock fixed it. You can buy these pumps used, They
put them in w123, w124 wagons, R107's and W116 models. New ones are about
$1300 for the part.
I'd try tightening the bolts, if that does not help them maybe replace the
gasket before springing for another pump.
