[W126 Coupe] Brake Rotors for the W126

I was actually thinking that they might have offered the option in Europe if the performance of a diesel had matched the form of the Cpe. I don't understand the reluctance of offering diesels here in the states but I suspect that it must be a political kind of thing. I drove a diesel Renault (I believe that's what it was) back in Spain 11 years ago and it was amazingly quiet, powerful and economical to drive; I never saw that car offered here in the states.

Not likely. Even today, we do not see many of the diesel models that we see in Europe.
My brother owns an 04 CLK 270CDI which is a 140mph car that gives him 40+mpg. We don't see it here and this was the first 2 door model to be offered in Europe with a diesel. Up until then, even in Europe, a 2 door sports car in Diesel was rare.

I'm sure that you are right, MB would have probably at the very least offered the option had the performance of the diesel been there.
