[W126 Coupe] Transmission problems and sway bar issues

Ken,
Your car may not have those plastic Z shaped sway bar links, my 87 doesn't
either, it has what you are describing and I'm not sure why its different,
but it is. My 86, 88, 89 and 90 all do have those links though.
I'd start with the trans service, that much mileage is way too long between
changes, see if that fixes things or not. Best of luck!
