Thanks Markus, I was just pressing the O botton in and the right three vertical buttons, the "auto" button was pressed in. I was trying to turn it off (by pressing in the O botton) after I started the car. Now I'll make sure everything is off before start the car. I'll let you know what haapens. Once it gets a little warmer I'll take the cover off and see if I can lubricate the fan that is making the noise.
Thanks,
Camran

Camran,
How do you turn the heating system off? Might sound like a silly question, but, there is a way to press the buttons such that all are in or all are out. The only way I found to truly shut it off is to have the first 4 buttons (from left to right) "out", and the last button "in".
There are two motors actually - a blower motor under the glovebox that circulates the air through the various ducts in the car. Then, there is another aspirator motor that sits to the right of the glovebox which pulls air to the overhead interior temp sensor to tell the system whether it needs to heat or cool at that moment.

Ever since the cold weather has hit our area (below 32 degrees) when I start the car from a cold start a screeching noise, like fan turning, comes from under the dash in the passenger compartment. As soon as the car heats up a little (after 5 minutes or so) then the noise stops. The noise is there even if I turn the heating/cooling sustem off. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Camran
