[W126 Coupe] Strange gauge lights error, any ideas?

Josh, the wiring behind the instrument panel is, uh, unconventional.
Something about the speedometer case acting as a jumper to connect
ground to the other half. I'd pull the cluster and manually trace both
the hot and ground paths. Sometimes it is as simple as a loose screw
causing poor contact to a circuit board trace.
