[W126 Coupe] Self leveling and alingment

The car was lowered by the previous owner but the springs appeared to have lost their strength so I had them replaced 3 or 4 years later (they had a life time guarantee on them). Actually, I don't think that the replace springs were defective because the alignment that followed was not perfect and I remember them saying something to the effect of need something else replaced. The tires are kept properly inflated, the wear is on the in/outside edges. I need to leave now for my appointment; I'll let you know what I find out.

PS:
I checked with Windshields To Go USA Inc. and they are confident that they can get me a windshield but so was Cascade and SafeLite; they're supposed to call me ASAP to confirm.

If the car was lowered, it should have been aligned at that time. Only the front was lowered you say, not the back too? How was it lowered, springs cut, or replaced with lowering springs?
Where is the uneven wear, or what is it? How a tire wears often can point to the problem, be it underinflation, overinflation, camber, caster, etc, etc.

Hey Markus,
I personally think that the leveling system is working since there is no apparent lean or sag one way or another but there has always been (since I bought it in 92) a thump sound when going over a bump. If it wasn't that my tires wear incredibly fast (or so it seems) and the tires were not so expensive I would just leave it alone. So, it's more of a single wheel (the right rear) that looks a bit strange and has brought to my attention that all of the tires are wearing poorly.

I don't think there is much, if any adjustment in the rear that can be made without a camber kit. But, that begs the question, is there something amiss that needs to be addressed first? Broken/sagging spring comes to mind - at that mileage, if they are original, they should probably be replaced. That's a lot of years/mileage that 4000 pounds has been putting on them. Spring cups should be replaced at the same time. Not sure what the struts/accumulators would have to do with anything except not keeping the rear ride height correct. Is it off side to side, or just sagging overall in the rear, or neither?

Does anyone know if the self leveling system could affect the alignment? My right rear wheel is visibly out of camber; the car is lowered in the front and this might be part, if not all, of the problem aligning all of the wheels. The dealer wouldn't tell me what it would cost to check out the leveling system . . .does anyone know what I should expect on an 87 560 SEC with 210k?
