I find this on the MB web site:
Every Mercedes-Benz in the U.S. - no matter how old, how many miles its
odometer reads, or how many owners it's had - qualifies for Roadside
Assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you ever need assistance
while traveling in your Mercedes-Benz, just call 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES
(1-800-367-6372) for our 24-Hour Roadside Assistance. Our Roadside
Assistance technicians know Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and they're well
prepared to handle unforeseen roadside complications. They´ll jump start
your battery, bring you a few gallons of fuel to get you to the next filling
station or change a flat tire using your spare, all free of charge. So you
can be confident that help is there when you need it most.
For more complex roadside assistance issues requiring special tools and
equipment, Mercedes-Benz will either dispatch a qualified Mercedes-Benz
technician to perform the work on-site, or arrange for your vehicle to be
towed to the nearest authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer. Towing costs are
dependent on the independent tow service provider and will vary. Speak with
your authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer about possible towing coverage for a
warrantable repair.*

just asked service guys and they say it covers gray market as well... we
have several Canadian veh. that have been road sided before. not sure if
this is just dealer specific but we cover gray market.
the only time you get a tow or trip interruption is if the car was a new car
warranty issue,CPO or Extended CPO coverage and even then it is up to
MBUSA/dealership discretion.
either way its nice if you have w126 diesel and you run out of diesel before
the next Flying J...
Techs must be certified and have been with the dealership for 12 months
before being allowed to assist on roadside calls.

I've heard it said that it only applies to cars that are US market cars, not
the gray market imports that ended up here one way or another.
I know I can't put my euro SEC on the MBUSA vehicle tracker due to the VIN
not being 'correct' for a US car.

It is great isn't it. We also provide trip interupption assistance if you
happened to be on a road trip. In certain instances if you are going to be
stranded for several days Mercedes-Benz can opt to pick up three days of
lodging and expenses.
The roadside is 24/7 and you will not get some AAA dispatched wrecker. Our
certified technicians are on call always.

I had the misfortune of incurring a flat tire on the West Shore Expresssway
on Staten Island on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM. (That would be Superbowl
Sunday). I had to get towed off the Expressway by an NYPD "authorized"
provider.
Once off the ramp, (and it was only 100 feet off the end of the ramp; no
time wasted there) I called the MB Roadside Assistance Hotline and the
nearest MB dealer, Ray Catena of Edison, NJ, had a service tech to me within
25 minutes. The tire change was free, and quick, and I was on my way 15
minutes later. Arrived home with the score 0-0 !!
Since I believe giving credit when credit is due, I thought I would pass
this along.
When I bought my car 2 years ago, I was totally unaware it came with this
lifetime benefit (a gallon of gas, or towing to the nearest MB dealer is
also free if you need it).If anyone else is unaware they have this program
riding along, now you know.
