Cal,

I've never remembered them when I was in the market for pads, but I've 
heard very good things of Akebono brake pads.

 From what I've heard, they're supposed to be much cleaner than most 
carbon metallic formulated pads as well as having good brake feel, but 
again, I have no personal experience.
