Bellamy,

You can get a replacement cover for the center armrest from GAHH or World Upholstery.
http://www.worlduph.com/mb22.htm
http://www.gahh.com/store.php?cPath=51_3439_258_2319&products_family_id=2

$105 on the GAHH site.

To remove the armrest from the seat you need to remove the back cover (two Philips head screws at the bottom) and have access to a 27 mm socket (if I remember correctly). Once you have the armrest off the seat you can wrestle the new cover on in a more convenient location.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Arm rest

I have two problems with my center folding arm rest. The mechanism appears to be sloppy/loose and it droops too low and sometime in its previous life someone appears to have tried to clean it with perhaps Starbucks coffee and it is discoloured (originally light gray) I would like to investigate what the mechanical problem is and fix it ... and possibly replace the cover.

Has anyone had experience how to dismantle this arm rest and/or remove the cover?
