Sex change operations...? It didn't take long for this subject to go downhill... WOW!!! ;-)

On the subject of bleeding brakes properly:

If you have replaced or rebuilt your calipers or introduced air into your brake system, be sure to absolutely NOT pressurize the system when it is closed by "pumping" or applying pressure to the brake pedal.

If you do this, especially with the ABS system, the brake fluid and air in the system will try to become one, i.e. it will become aerrated or turn into foam and it will be nearly impossible to get ALL the air out of the system.

1. Start with the furthest caliper from the master cylinder.
2. Open the bleed nipple.

3. Slowly apply brake pedal to bottom and hold.

4. Close bleed nipple.

5. Slowly release brake pedal to top and wait 3 seconds allowing master cylinder plunger to return completely.

Repeat steps 1-5, religiously, about 10 times for each caliper making sure to keep the master cylinder reservoir topped off with new brake fluid, never allowing it to get to the bottom.

This procedure requires two people, but can be done with one, using a "One man" bleed kit... Orrr... a "One woman" bleed kit if you live in San Francisco and have just undergone a sex change operation... ;-)

This will assure a good, solid and effective brake feel for a long time or until your new pads wear out.

Otherwise you can $pay$ some shop to do this for you and HOPE they know what they're doing.

Cheers,

Sam

It is easier, quicker and cheaper to convert a man to a woman and
vice versa than to convert a SEC  from gas to electric.
