Hi Ronny,
I just went through exactly the same ordeal. Complete brake job and very
spongy pedal that I could eventually push to the floor. After several back
and forth's to the garage, it turned out they had put the wrong master
cylinder on - twice!!! There was a subtle difference between the one
required and the ones they ordered. The point being that they had checked
all the lines and could not find and issue until they narrowed it down to
the MC - finally after three days of trouble-shooting.
This may not be your problem but yours struck a chord with me as I just went
through the same frustration. I was about to go postal on the garage at one
point J

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Brakes and air
My 1987 560 SEC have a major brake job for front and back and the garage, I
come there for the last 20 years, also decided to replace the brake fluid.
But they have a problem with bleeding out the air. After a couple hours the
brakes start working the should do and I drove home. I went to the gas
station to fill and started the engine. At that moment I felt that the
brakes become soft and went nearly totally down again. I tried pumping, but
that did not help.
Any help and idea is needed and thank you.
Ronny
