I found the Colorado DOT highway web site that provides cameras all along the highways and the average speeds at several locations. It's bookmarked in my iPhone!! Turns out that with a five hour window, I can leave Denver and get far enough west to be out of the danger zone. When I drove to Denver on Nov 12th, the first mountain east of Vail had ice under the snow. I was out of the way in the right lane on my 245/45/18 Falkens, with the GPS reading 17 mph and the speedo reading around 40mph!! Fat dry weather tires on a lowered high-torque MB just doesn't cut it!! Give it a little gas, catch the slide to the right, give it a little gas catch the slide to the left, repeat repeat repeat. :-)

Mike,
Denver has that reputation, but it's actually pretty typical to have 60 degree days with snow on the ground melting away. The real snow months are in the Spring, March in particular. Snow storms are one thing, but the snowpack it leaves behind mostly doesn't last long at lower elevations - 3 or 4 days and it's generally gone. Just don't leave your car out before a good size storm or you may have trouble using it for few days (if you can find it in the parking lot). Also, if its already snowing before you try to make a break though a mountain pass, stop and go back the way you came from until it passes. Don't ask me how I know that. ;)

Merry Christmas to all!!
Early Christmas for me! Lou C just sold me his 2.65 LSD and I just bought some non-SLS H&R springs for FrankenBenz's tail!! Woohoo!!
I'm working a gig in Denver and it's 60F today, supposed to be 65F tomorrow!! Sure hope that I can make it home to Las Vegas before the required "weather correction" (e.g., monster storm) realizes it needs to roar through here to put winter's average temperature and snow fall back to normal!!

Hi Group,
Anybody besides me still plagued with unwanted Willard emails
from the deceased? It stopped for a while then restarted again from his
AOL account.
I don't open them but most seems titled as junk
anyway!
Let me take this opportunity as well to wish you all a JOYFUL
HOLIDAY SEASON, and hope to see some of you next year.
Keep yourselves and Stars safe and warm!
Cheers,
