Subject: [W126 Coupe] Window Regulator Problems

I have been having tremendous window regulator problems. Fix and re-fix
every couple years or so. I now thing the car was hit on the driver's and
repaired. The steel bar that runs the length of the door was welded with a
piece of steel added. I do not think this normal.

The window jumped one of the the tracks and the regulator got bent. I think
the original problem is one of the clamps that holds the window in place
came loose. My question is, "Should the metal piece that sits next to the
window (over a plastic sheath) attached to the window with permanent glue?"
If yes, I will probably have to replace the glass as well. I may be able to
bend the regulator back into its proper shape, but failing that, does anyone
have one available? What about the glass.
