Should be...both gen1. Most gen2 parts will also work, some are just
different like the fenders, but if you get both that match, you should be
fine. Same goes for interiors. Everything will work/fit, there are just
differences, many of them cosmetic.

Do you use brake cleaner or carburator cleaner to clean the injectors?? I
know one place mentions brake cleaner and someone mentioned carb cleaner.

There is an article in the archives with step by step instructions on how
to remove and replace the fuel injectors that I printed off a year or so
ago.

Thanks,

In this job, I'd think that either would work just as well.

I use brake cleaner simply because it's a little more aggressive at
cleaning
the carb cleaner.

Mike,

This just happened to my 88' 560... My mechanic said that it's almost
always the fan motor and not the regulator.

He was correct... I replaced the fan motor ($80.00) under the passenger
dash area and everything works great.

There is an access panel under the passenger dash area above the footwell.
Remove this and remove the plenum cover to the fan, I think 4 or 5 philips
screws.

Hopefully you are limber, have no back issues and have a flashlight you
cand hold in your mouth... ;-)

You need to be careful extracting the motor from the squirl cage fan
housing as the plastic gets brittle over time...

2 srews hold the motor to the fan housing and the squirl cage fan is press
fit to the motor knurled shaft.

Support the?drum of the fan on two blocks of wood and strike the fan shaft
with a suitable?punch. ?

I used a large philips screw driver and heavy hammer. Fewer, swift, crisp,
?fearless strikes is the way to go. :-)

Replace the new motor in exactly the same spot as the old one so the
electrical leads are in the proper position.

Good time to clean the fan plenum and electrostatic filter of leaves and
other debris.

However, before you do anything, check the fuses... One in the main fuse
box and another line fuse, 30A, for the blower motor specifically...

This is near the fuse box with a flip cover on it and two philips screws
holding the foil like aluminum fuse.

Good luck,

Sam

My Heater/ AC fan has now stopped completely.?

At first it made a worn bearing noise

Then it would run for a few minutes and stop?

How can I tell if it is the blower motor or regulator?? In the past the
recommendations were to replace the assembly not just the motor.

Any ideas
