[W126 Coupe] E 320

I have a friend who owns a 2003 E320.
That car has two batteries. The small one under the hood has a different function then the standard one.
That 9 V? battery gives an indication that there is a problem with the brakes ( a red light indicator) and the brakes has just been replaced.
Please help me to help that friend of mine.
