[W126 Coupe] lowering

There is one shim at the top of each spring, which sits between the metal
body and the spring itself. You can buy these in varying thicknesses to
alter the actual height, even when using the lowering springs.

You do not "need" to buy new shocks, but if your old ones are of unknown
age, can't hurt to replace them.
