Now This may be farfetched, But I had a similar issue and it was a plugged
cat, The precat screen broke loose and dumped the crap into the system and
plugged everything. I tried all the tricks fuel pressure while driving etc.
Finally got fed up and drilled 2,1 1/2 holes in the front pipes. Instant 150
horsepower. Took it down to the local custom shop, he reworked he whole
system for about $300, kept the original muffler, eliminated the resonators,
twin pipes though aftermarket, high flow cat. Sounded great and lots of
power.
BTW electrical breaks down under load, but that is more of the missing
nature. Sounds like fuel. On a vehicle that has sat that long, if you get
varnish it can plug up the filter in 5 minutes. I have recovered several
vehicles and I have had to pull the gas tanks and completely flush the gas
lines. You can easily disconnect the lines before the fuel distributor and
put a pressure gauge on it, but remember fuel pressure can be good, but the
flow sucks. I made up a system and measured flow into a fuel can.
