[W126 Coupe] Rear Window support panel

	That is how my '89 project began: the rear window rust.
	All the way forward; I replaced the rusted part with sheet
	metal, but found that you cannot prevent future rust by
	simply replacing the factory set-up.  So, I cut-out a piece
	of 1/8" thick aluminum that is embedded on the channel 
	with windshield seal.  I then used the same seal to put the 
	rear window in place.  The rubber window seal was not 
	used.  The set-up is the same as newer Benz cars.  This 
	is not a very good explanation, but I can post pictures.  
	This way you will never have rust.  BTW.  The rear window 
	seal is brand new and available for those who want to use
	the original configuration.

    I thought while I was waiting for a replacement speedo,it would be a 
good time to check the rear panel under the rear screen,luckily there only 
seems to be some surface rust,I know from the cars I inspected prior to this

one(15)most had horendous perforated rust.
    Its a difficult area to derust as access is only through the holes did 
try a pencil style wire brush with limited sucess,sandblasting would be 
effective but very messy.

    I am interested what other members have done as far as rust proofing is 
concerned,its quite tricky as water has the potential to leak from the 
window and start rusting behind any new paint or sealer.
    Most of the commercial "rust dissolvers" seems to be phosphoric acid 
based which if not neutralised fully after treatment could makes matters 
worse.
    If anyone has a real "bullet-proof"solution I would love to know.
