Matty,

You must remove the cylinder cover and look for a cam lobe that is
scored. The wear will be noticeable right off the top of the lobe to
either face. The face of the lobe depending on how bad can be lapped in
place and the rocker arm must be removed and replaced. This is the
minimum work needed and will last a while if done carefully.

If you see wear on other cam lobes, it is best to recondition the heads
and hope that the camshafts are not so badly worn that they can be used
once again.
