[W126 Coupe] 7" of play in park

Unless this is a recent development, I wouldn't worry too much.
In my experience Benz auto transmissions have always had more travel before the pawl locks than with domestic US cars. My guess is the cog gear used for the park mechanisim is much coarser (fewer cogs per inch of circumference) than on US cars.
My 86' SEC rolls just as far before it locks.

Hi all
When I come to a stop and put my 1988 560 sec in park the car will roll
6-7-8" before it stops there is that much play. Does anyone have a best
guess as to what need to replace to take care of that.
Thanks
