Good job Frank,

Now ... ;-) ... check for rust on the inside of the trunk, where the water was running down from the light.

If you see any repair it now or it will rust (bubble) through to the outside.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Leak in trunk is FIXED

Using all your suggestions, I used newspaper at the antennae, etc. and by running water all over the trunk and rear glass area was able to isolate the leak. This may be a good lesson for those with a strange leak in the lower recessed area in the trunk: Again, by taping newspaper as you suggested all over the left side, the water was coming in via the bottom of the rear lamp housing. The nuts were NOT tight holding it in and water was pooling in that small tray on the top (just under the trunk lid.) As it filled it overflowed and water leaked into the lamp itself and emptied into the left recessed well. I have tightened all of the nuts holding the housing in and no more leak!

Thanks to all the suggestions it's now fixed. (At no cost and without me climbing into the trunk with a flashlight.)
