I'm guessing that he's thinking that there would be an appreciable
amount of chips or nicks in the glass by then.
In my car's case, there are no defects of note, and I don't have comp
coverage on a $600 car, so I'll be pursuing the route of removing trim
and resealing it.
I'm thinking that if I can get the chrome/aluminum trim off, I should be
able to clean and re-goop it well enough to seal. As long as I'm
careful to not make any water traps, I shouldn't incur any higher rust risk.
