Markus,
I'm not experiencing problems with my motor yet but I am following this dialogue with interest. Can you tell me what the foil fuse looks like and where to find it?
Thanks,
steve

Sam - easily accessible under the dash, but before you go there, check the foil fuse I suggested.

Thanks Greg!
Is the Blower Motor easily accessible or does the dash need to come out?

Sam:

It may be that your blower motor is shot.? Mine went bad earlier this year.? The motor would come on but ran slower and slower until it would not come on at all.? I pulled?the motor and?the commutator had ridges worn in it and the brushes were worn down to nubs.

I purchased an after market model from www.mercedessource.com

If you get the after market model, remove the motor from the housing and use the original housing from your old motor.? The after market housing is very flimsy.

Markus Meyer and Dick Spellman gave me a number of helpful tips during the replacement.? Dick's saying is that these motors will fail on the hottest day of the year when you really need AC.

Also if your commutator is not worn and your think the motor bearings are OK and you are adventurous, Mercedes Source also sells brush kits for you to use in replacing the brushes in these motors.? (I did not try this)
