Dean,

I had the same problem with my Jeep Cherokee.  It had illegal tint on the windows.  I peeled the film off with the help of a razor scraper.  The goo left behind came off with lacquer thinner.  Make sure you open all the windows and doors and work outside on  a breezy day as the fumes are noxious!

A prior owner (in Southern California) installed a dark limo tint plastic to the inside of all the windows (except windshield).  

I have managed to peal the tint off (with the help of a single edge razor blade) but it has left a residue (in places) on the glass like scotch tape would leave.

Any suggestions on what would remove the residue without scratching the glass?
