Lou:

I happen to know both of you personally and grateful you acknowledge we have at least one good regular woman on the site, Legs. I agree the comment is all wrong out of place and I was surprised too, but then again, you don't all know each other's personalities, and after all, this is a coupes locker room full of guys. What can one expect with such a mix!

Anyway my reply to plastic issue is yes, you can try some remedial chemical products, with some results, but for the effort, energy, and expense involved doing this, when purchasing a preowned car of such age, I find it best to go ahead and replace the plastic headlight housings at this opportunity. Most of you have seen my cars and will agree they have have fresh, crisp appearance and my feeling is, it is a good time after ten years to open up those light channels anyway, clean them out properly, some cases they house water droplet condensation, and just start fresh. There is no such thing as antique plastic, it gets brittle in age and subject to cracks, and you can just toss the old ones into recycle container. Nor is there any concours deductions for replaced housings, so go ahead and do it is my advice.

Best wishes with the New Star!
