The ones we use here (germany) were by Peter Wurms from Stuttgart.  I don't know
if they are available there.  They were not standard equipment here
until much later
(not even sure if they were here for the w126).  My car (1982 500 SEC)
had a upgrade
in 1988 for a passive cat and in 1998 the fully regulated cat.  The
later was by Peter
Wurms [these were only available here at MB dealers for installation].
  I had a problem
because the Y-pipe was different in my car then that which was
standard so they had
to fix it as it was, as a replacement was not available.
