For the headlights, I use 600 wet/dry sandpaper followed by 1500 grit
wet/dry sandpaper (wet), then use DuPont #7 Polishing compound to get it
scratch free, then a good quality car wax.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Question about plastic headlights
I just bought my wife a nice 1999 E320 which has spent its life in FLA. It
has 2 issues that I am asking some input on.
(1) The plastic head lamp and fog lamp lenses are cloudy, as has happened
in other types of cars I have had in the past, American and European. Is
there a way to get them clearer again, or do I have to replace them?
(2) The left speaker cover at the extreme end of the front dash has a small
whole in the grid. A cosmetic issue only, and I assume it is from sun
effect. Is that a part that I can replace separately? If so, I assume it
would be a good idea to do both sides at the same time.
Thanks.
