Sand down with 400 till you are through the paint.  I like to take out as much high/low as possible w/ the factory primer.  Fill any imperfections w/ poly fill and the appropriate hardener that leaves some flexibility (paint/body supply store will know what to use).  Sand, fill, sand, fill..repeat a few more times..once satisfied finish w/ 600 grit.  Bring to you local body shop w/ piece of your cladding so they can get the tint correct..
