[W126 Coupe] painting SEC grille

By chance what is the correct color for painting the grill? Just did not want to get it wrong. Thanks for all the help keeping my beauty at it's best. Regards, Cecil E

Do you remember how you did that?  Did you tape off the chrome and then spray it, or did you get the chrome off?

    I have had my grill painted for over 15 years. I left all the chrome alone and
Just painted the fins. I have them covered with the 3M product to avoid chips.

Has anyone here painted their SEC grille?  If so, did you remove the chrome and how did you do it?  I got another grille and was thinking of painting it, but a cursory look didn't tell me how the chrome separates from the rest, and with the archives down, I can't search...
