[W126 Coupe] 560SEC Parts

Here's a quick electrical test of the ICV done with the engine off: put an
ohmmeter on the two pins, it should be around 4 ohms, then tap it with a
small plastic hammer or the handle of a screwdriver to see if the resistance
value changes (4 ohms to Open to 4 ohms). These ICV's have about 3/4" of
unsupported small wire that go from the two pins in the end into the
solenoid coil in the ICV and those little wires can break. I've seen a
couple ICVs that worked some times (broken ends touching) and then decided
to not work when the broken ends in the ICV move apart. If this is your
problem, it's a DIY fix. Let me know.

Mike

Jonathan,

How much do you charge for both new & used one?

Since we are on the subject, I may ask for you guys advice. I have a
problem with high idling - sometimes high, sometimes just right. I had the
Idle Control Unit changed in March but still have the sometimes high,
sometimes ok problem. Not sure the problem will go away if I change this
ICV.

Just for confirmation, I attached the pix of ICV. Hope we are talking about
the same thing.

You can email me off-list. Thanks
Bob
