Jay,
There are lots of steps to properly remove the door panel without breaking
it. I've done it many a time and still go slow, you don't want to break the
plastic tabs at the top. If you don't have the service CDs you may want to
get them, they will help a lot with step by step directions. From memory:
Remove speaker cover if you have one
Remove any screws at bottom of door panel, I had a few in mine (87 SEC)
Remove chrome cover at top front of door panel near mirror
Remove chrome ring around door lock area
Pull out light at bottom of panel and unplug
Take off plastic cover by door handle
Remove screw holding metal surround in place
Remove seat adjustment pieces
Pull out surround for seat adjustment pieces and metal surround in front
Take off 3 screws holding armrest in place and remove armrest
Pull (slowly) doorpanel up to release plastic slips at top and rest along
the door and pull forward
I think I got all the steps but may have missed some. I can try and dig out
the PDF file that outlines the steps if you need it.
