[W126 Coupe] Engine stumbles, antenna chews the antenna mast

Just a suggestion...the section of the mast that is thinnest may be
slight bent and it getting "hung up."
Take a good look at each section from the all sides and also from
the "top down."
What happens when you raise and lower the mast with the swithch on
the dash and not in auto mode?
