[W126 Coupe] Engine stumbles, antenna chews the antenna mast

Hi everyone,

I'm still doing battle with the audio make-over I embarked on about six months ago. It is coming along and I have CD/DVD and iPod sound again for the first time since December.

I changed out the antenna mast with one I picked up at the local (Devon, PA) MB dealership. I got the old one out without a hitch and the new one went in fairly smoothly as well.

The first sign of trouble was that the new mast did not rise after the installation.

I got it to go up and retract, but every time it goes down, the motor continues to spin after the mast is fully retracted and makes an infernal noise spinning against the nylon rope.

Anyone got an idea of what is going on?

Also, my M119 engine has developed a pronounced stumble. I happens when the engine has not fully warmed up and when applying the throttle after idling.

I strongly favor a fuel over spark as the cause, but am open to ideas about what solutions to try.
