[W126 Coupe] Swapping steering wheels

The airbags were not miles/km rated.

The inital expiration dates were 10 years after installation, but it was later extended to 15 years and may have been further extended for all that I know.

In my humble opinion, you shouldn't worry about the airbag, it will almost certainly go off. The control unit is a different matter. Anything with a circuit board, capacitors, resistors, IC's and subject to a lot of movement, humidity and temperature changes will go wonky over time. I've had to change my control unit and that was 17 years after installation.
