[W126 Coupe] 1985 500 SEC muffler issue

I recently had an original muffler replaced on my 1985 500 SEC due
to age.  My mechanic replaced the original chrome muffler with a black muffler(no idea of brand).

Within two months after replacement the rubber muffler hanger has broken twice,
which was apparent with shaking of the car and noise of the muffler scraping the pavement
over driveways.  

Could this problem be due to the way it was installed? 

I find it hard to believe that aftermarket rubber hanger would break every month unless
there is some inherent defect in either the rubber rings to hold the muffler or the way
the muffler was installed..

Also does anyone know if it is possible to find an authentic MB muffler not
aftermarket for an older model car?
