My ’95 W140 is having an AC problem. The heater works fine, all winter, on
both (driver and passenger) sides. But now, when it calls for AC, it works
fine for about 20 minutes of driving and then the driver’s side (only) goes to
full heat while the passenger’s side stays on cooling. After a while the heat
shuts off for a little bit but after a few minutes goes on heating again. Any
idea as to where to look for the problem? Is it an electronics control
problem, a sensor problem, defective control flaps or actuators? The outcome on
troubleshooting a similar problem would be appreciated. (Taking the dash apart
is a bear.)
