[W126 Coupe] Question on electic rear shade

I bought a used rear power blind for my 1990 SEC.

It came with the wiring harness which made the installation very easy. I put the switch in the center console, replacing the non-funcitonal fader wheel, plugged the connector into the X20 multiplug in the driver's footwell and pulled the wire to the rear shelf.

I've changed the nylon rope once already and the fun part is getting the broken pieces out.

I like mine quite a bit and I use it a lot in the summer.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Question on electic rear shade

I have a 1991 560 SEC. When I bought it, the seller told me that it has a rare option: a power rear shade. He said it wasn't working but it wouldn't take much to get it working. Unfortunately, my mechanic tells me that I need a new shade and a new motor for a total of $1,000 The shade itself is in good condition, so if I could get the spool it goes on, that would be fine. Also, if I could get a new motor it would save me money compared to buying the whole base. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.
