[W126 Coupe] A/C Problem

Thanks Axel,
Trouble is, I'm not talking about full throttle or kick-down, which would be no trouble to live with.
Suppose you approach an uphill and you want to climb it with moderate speed, just enough not to annoy the guy behind you, which would possibly necessitate half throttle. I don't think this is an example for which the german guys calculated that the extra HP is necessary for the engine. Moreover, I own my car for almost 6 years now, and I can say that this wasn't present before.
Thanks once more, but it seems my old lady has a bug somewhere...

Vedat,
As they say in the software industry; that is not a bug, it is a feature.
At full throttle, when the kick-down switch is engaged, the AC compressor will shut down to get 100% of the engine power to the wheels.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] A/C Problem
Hi Group,
My A/C functions perfectly OK as long as I drive soft and smooth. On the other hand, the moment I demand a considerable percentage of those 300 horses present, such as driving up a steep hill, or just the occasional need to feel some G's, the A/C seems to switch to heating mode and quits blowing through the front vents. Appearently the compressor also goes out in the process because the air diverted to the defroster vents seems to warm instantly.
I imagine this could possibly be a vacuum leak issue, but that's not much of a help since we're not living in an imaginary world...:p
Any thoughts?
