Hello Benny,

 

That vibration and noise from your front left wheel, when does it manifest itself?

 

You stated that it becomes noticeable at speed (100 - 120 Kph). Absolutely nothing before that? Is this in a straight line? Does the noise change between left curve and right curve?

 

If you're positive the wheels are properly balances and have even wear all-around, I'd take it to the MB dealership for a 4-wheel alignment. You may have worn front suspension components (tie rods, dog bones, steering damper, shocks, springs, binding calipers, engine mounts, bushings, etc.) and the dealership should be able to tell you what needs to be changed after an alignment job.

 

As for your bumper chrome. I suppose it can be an issue to find good, non-rusty, used ones in Denmark, but the dealership prices will make your hair stand up. There are a number of used parts dealers in the UK that may be of help and the German eBay is useful too.

Hi There, 

Great site, i am living in Denmark and has a 560 SEC from 1988, i had previous a 500 SE also 1988, both has the problem that when i drive around 100 to 120 KM pr. hours i have a bit turbulence / shaking in the steering wheel and a noise that seems to come from left front side of the car, it's a new set of balanced wheels with new tires on. before i split everything apart, it cut be nice to hear from all you specialist's what to do!!, Thanks in advance Benny Denmark. PS anyone who knows where i can purchase new crom for my EURO bumpers!!
