Good question.
Thanks for your response Dick, I was struggling with the other opinion that you should only change a portion of the oil due to slippage problems caused by the viscosity of the new oil.

No truth to that at all Mark.
Drop the pan, clean everything up (some gray film likely), rotate the
crankshaft until you can see the drain plug on the torque converter and
remove it, crack a tranny line fitting on the valve body (driver's side
is easy access) just a bit so that torque converter drains as much as
possible. Go have lunch. Come back button things up with a new filter,
add fluid, run the shift points, top off fluid again if needed.
