[W126 Coupe] Inside door handle failure.

My 560 was worked on for an unrelated engine compartment issue last  
week and when i got home after picking it up I could not get out of  
the car !  The inside door latch was flopping, the door was not fully  
closes but I hadn't noticed that on the short drive ho,me.  Now I  
have to lower the window to open the door using the outside latch.  
Could the mechanic have over-zealoulsy pulled on the internal latch  
and broken something ?  THis is all before I give it back to them  
next week to fix
