I had the same problem. Turned out to be the ICV - Idle Control Valve.

Hi, I need help! My 82 380 sec has engine problems.  I started the car the
other day and the engine began to idle very high for no apparent reason.
What would cause this problem?

I think that fell through.  I just used that email to post the reply for my
vote and that was a mistake.

However, I am planning on buying a set of Euro Bumpers from England and
having them shipped.  If you are serious, email me privately and when I am
doing it we'll co-ordinate.
