You should let your current agent know that your 560SEL should be considered as a recreational car. Usually they will do for autos that travel less than 10,000 miles per year. I have done the same for my 1984 380 SEC. Regards, Cecil Elliott

Insurance rates are based on a multitude of variables; your best bet is to solicit quotes from the main stream companies ie. StateFarm, Farmers, Allstate, AAA, Travelers, etc. and definitely a couple of independent brokers who represent several carriers that you may never even heard of.
A little bit of your time and effort for sure but your savings will justify it, good luck.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Off Topic-Insurance Question
I was wondering who who guys are using for insurance? I have a 560sel and well the rates on this thing are in left field. Its not a daily driver so Id say less that 8000 miles a year now :( Any suggestions on who to call that wont charge an arm and a leg? I have a spotless driving record and for what they charge me, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Thanks,
