[W126 Coupe] Off topic..... again

Mike,

Not physically able to do the DIY projects these days.  I have tried the Bar's Stop Leak for the evaporator, but it still leaks out in less than 3 days.  I wanted to try the cryo seal, but I don't know of any shops around Chicago that use it, so I am hoping I can get a mechanic to tackle it without reaming me in the process.  I would be willing to pay a grand for the labor.  I am going to get the parts this weekend.  Are there motors or what that open the center vents or gears?

Sincerely,
John C. Conley

My first thought is that is going to be a very big labor bill from the mechanic. The evaporator replacement is the huge job on pretty much any MB, more hours than needed to replace the engine!! Have you thought about a DIY on the evap? All the rest of the dash items would be done while the evap is being R&R'd and that would make them DIY also. Nothing terribly hard to do it, just LOTS of steps to get it done.

Hi guys and gals,

I think I am going to have to replace my abs sensors on my 140 diesel.  I had them cleaned and blown out with compressed air and I still get an intermittent abs light.  I am also going to try to have my evaporator replaced and while I am in there, I want to know if I should get the bulb for my fuel gauge replaced, and my center vents don't open when I roll the dials to open them. The little lights inside the roller dials don't light up either.  Any ideas on what I need to get before I give the car to the mechanic?

I bought mine at Importvision.  I have both, clears on my SEC, clear/red on my wife's SEL, and smoked on my SEL.
